Dahi Chicken is less spicy, less oily and has a very special tangy taste due to Yogurt.
Ingredients:
To Marinate:
2lb-chicken in small pieces
1-cup plane yogurt
1-tbs ginger garlic paste
½-tsp turmeric powder
salt to taste
For Gravy:
1-medium size chopped onion
1-tbs ginger garlic paste
½-tsp turmeric powder
2-tbs garam masala (curry powder)
1-tsp chilly powder (to taste)
2-cardamons
3-whole red chilly
3-tbs oil
1-cup water
1-tbs coriander leaves (cilantro)
Instruction:
Marinate
- Mix all the ingredients for marination. Make sure that chicken is covered with this mixture. Let it set in the refrigerator (you can keep it in refrigerator ranging from 1 hr to 12 hours).
Gravy
- Heat oil, put cardamons and whole red chilly to crackle.
- Add onion, ginger garlic paste and turmeric powder, fry till very light brown.
- Add marinated chicken and garam masala. Saute till oil seperate from chicken.
- Add water and cook with close lid for 10-15 min.
- Now dahi chicken is ready, garnish with coriander leaves.
